Katzenbach School for the Deaf
Welcome
back to NJSD/MKSD to help us celebrate the school's 125th
birthday! We are commemorating also the 80th
anniversary of the Alumni Association, the 40th
year of the Katzenbach Parent and Staff Organization and the
10th year of the Katzenbach Parent and Staff
Education Foundation. Together they make NJSD/MKSD a strong
school of academics, vocational training and sports programs
for students.
I am very proud of NJSD/MKSD
and its museum, established in 2006, has memorabilia from
the establishment of the school. Many people visit the
museum with rich memories and share their stories of the
times they spent here as students.
I am
honored to have worked with the four groups to make this
celebration possible: NJSD/MKSD Superintendent and Staff,
Alumni Association, KPSO and KPSEF, Inc. There is great
chemistry between these groups and their mutual love and
respect for the school is evident.
I want to
especially thank my wife Phyllis for all her assistance and
support during the 21/2 years of preparing this event. We
met while we were students here at NJSD and she continues to
bring me happiness everyday.
I also want to
thank my daughters, their spouses, my son, and one year old
granddaughter for their support and patience in California
while I devoted all my time in New Jersey to preparing for
this event.
I hope
you enjoy the events on campus and may the weekend bring
back many fond memories. Thank you for coming and
supporting your Alma Mater, NJSD
